Marius Copil and Filip Jianu, in the second round at Concord Iași Open 2021. Victory for Cezar Creţu and Dan Tomescu in the first round of the doubles event.
The first to secure his place in the second round was Filip Cristian Jianu, who won 6-4, 6-3, the one hundred percent Romanian match played against Dan Alexandru Tomescu. Also on Field no. 1, but more than two hours away, Cezar Cretu also entered the field for his first-round match. Unfortunately for us, the opponent, much more experienced, won this match. Cezar's path on the singles board stopped here after the Croatian Duje Ajdukovic won 6-3, 6-2.
In the fourth match on Field no. 1, the most awaited of this Tuesday, Marius Copil had a complicated match with the Bulgarian Alexandar Lazarov, but the higher value of our compatriot spoke for himself. After losing the first set, 3-6, Marius Copil played better and better, he took control of the game which he did not give up until the end.
It was 6-3 for Marius in the second set to end the match with 6-2 in the decisive and to qualify in the second set where he will meet the Croatian Duje Ajdukovic, the one who eliminated Cezar Cretu today.
Finally, Tuesday at Concord Iași Open 2021 ended with a doubles match one hundred percent Romanian, a very thrilling and extremely spectacular one. Cezar Creţu and Dan Tomescu won with 6-4, 7-6 (5) the meeting with Nicholas-David Ionel and Ștefan Paloși.
