Panna Udvardy is a semi-finalist at the BCR Iași Open

The Hungarian player Panna Udvardy (23 years old, 93rd place WTA) is the first semifinalist at the BCR Iași Open. Udvardy, 2nd favorite in Iasi, clearly defeated in the first quarter-final Kristina Mladenovic, from France (29 years old, 112 WTA), 6th favorite, score 6-1, 6-2, in a match that lasted an hour and a quarter.
In the semifinals, Panna Udvardy will meet the winner of the quarter Rebeka Masarova (Spain) – Maja Chwalinska (Poland).
It was the 8th straight win for Panna Udvardy, who prevailed last week at the $60,000 ITF tournament in Cordenons, Italy. The athlete from Hungary won all five matches in Italy in two sets, and at the BCR Iași Open she also defeated her opponents in a minimum of sets.
