Brazilian Felipe Meligeni Rodrigues Alves, the new CHAMPION of the Concord Iași Open!
The Brazilian player Felipe Meligeni Rodrigues Alves, 16th place ATP, is the new holder of the Concord Iași Open trophy, ATP Challenger 100 category tournament. At the age of 24, the favorite no. 8 of the competition defeated in the grand final the Spaniard Pablo Andujar (36 years old), world number 105, favorite no. 2, score 6-3, 4-6, 6-2, at the end of a superb match that lasted two hours and ten minutes.
The final was an electrifying one, with spectacular exchanges of blows that raised the 1,000 spectators present in the stands of the Ciric Sports Base.
Felipe Meligeni Rodrigues Alves was a quarter-finalist at the first edition of the Concord Iași Open, when he was eliminated on the way to the semifinals by Pablo Andujar himself, and last year he stopped in the semifinals in Iași.
Champion Felipe Meligeni will win 12,250 euros and 100 ATP points, while finalist Pablo Andujar will be left with 60 points and a cash prize of 7,200 euros.
